Huawei Reveals P8 Lite

It is a well-known fact that the without a carrier to subsidize their price, unlocked smartphones can
reach an expensive price on the market. However, this is not the case for Huawei’s P8 Lite. This new
smartphone can be bought at the price of 250 dollars, which is an incredibly affordable price these days on the smartphone’s market.

P8 Lite’s price can be compared with high-end devices price, but with a contract. In the US, customers can buy this phone directly from the company’s online store and from other retailers, such as Amazon.

Despite its affordable price, the new Huawei P8 Lite also comes packed with some decent specs and
features that transform this device into a respectable mid-tier performer. It features a slim construction, with a 13-megapixel camera that takes some decent and sharp photos, and also a 5-inch display that is very responsive and clear.

If we compare it with other mid-range devices, like Oppo 5 and Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3, Huawei P8 Lite did not manage to beat them. For example, Oppo 5 and Alcatel are better alternatives when it comes to inexpensive unlocked handsets.

However, even if it doesn’t come with a sleek all-metal body, like many other high-end phones, the P8 Lite is still a slim good-looking phone. It is available in two different colors: black and white, with either gold or silver accents, and has curved corners.

To be noticed that the side edges metal trimming adds a little bit of luxury to the overall design. For a budget phone, the new Huawei P8 Lite is quite a well-built phone and when it is held in hand, it gives the feeling of a premium device.

On the top and bottom edges, users will find dual audio speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack,
respectively. On the right edge are placed a volume rocker and a power/control key. To be mentioned
that the phone also homes two tray slots for a microSD and a SIM card. The phone’s 5-inch screen has a 720p resolution, which isn’t as sharp as 1,080p, but is bright and offers a wide viewing angle.

The touch is very responsive and if it is put to a closer inspection, users will probably see pixilation with images and app icons, but probably nobody will look at the screen with a magnifying glass.
Sadly, Huawei P8 Lite comes with a dated version of Google’s mobile operating system, 4.4 KitKat.

Most people do not understand why Huawei decided to not add the recent 5.0 Lollipop, but they still get Google’s standard lineup of app, like Gmail, Chrome web browser, YouTube, Hangouts and many other well-known apps. To be mentioned that this phone features Huawei’s EMUI 3.0 user interface, a skin so thick that users will not recognize if this is an Android device. This is not a bad thing, because EMUI 3.0 looks pretty good and it’s minimalistic and clean.

Huawei P8 Lite comes with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 octo-core processor, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and a 2,200mAh non-removable battery.
